Employment Services
L&M Employment Services can provide local employers with dependable, motivated employees to fill your staffing needs. We ensure training and support of all employees that we place. Our agency offers creative staffing solutions by listening to your business needs and matching those to an individual’s gifts and abilities.
L&M can be your source for holiday, seasonal, temporary or permanent staffing needs. Let us show you how we can help you:
Reduce Training Time
Save Money
Get Back to More Important Business Needs
Become a business that is known in the community for creating opportunities, breaking stereotypes, and providing a future for those with disabilities.
In 2013, L&M received a 3-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). This allows our agency to represent individuals with state funding which provides work supports to assist the individual and the employer to ensure a successful placement is made. L&M’s goal is to provide the business with one of their best, long-term employee. We offer a variety of hiring options to accommodate employers’ needs, such as:
Direct Hire
L&M works with employers to determine the key attributes needed for available positions and refers qualified candidates. Once the client is hired, training supports will be provided by experienced L&M staff at no cost to employer. The level of support and length of time is customized to meet the needs of the new hire as well as the employer operations. After supports are no longer needed on a daily basis, L&M continues to provide follow along and re-training when needed.
Work Trial
A work trial allows the prospective employee and employer an opportunity to test the job fit. Wages during the work trial are paid by L&M and the job candidate remains an L&M employee during the trial. This eliminates the need for an employer to set up payroll records until a successful match is made, and the employer chooses to hire.
Seasonal or Temporary Placements
Temporary work placements allow new employees to prove their abilities, and gain valuable work experience. These temporary placements fulfill seasonal or temporary staffing demands for the employer, while giving them the opportunity to experience the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities. Even though this may not be a permanent placement, it provides individuals new to the workforce valuable work experience and exposure to different career choices.
Internships/Summer Youth Programs
These programs are customized based on employer schedule and needs. Students transitioning from school to work are assigned to a group of 3 to 6 students with an L&M staff member. That staff member is trained on the employer needs and works with the students during a 4-week work experience.
Crew Employment
When an employer is not ready to hire directly for staffing needs, L&M offers a work crew option that provides an onsite work crew with L&M staff members to oversee training and daily operations. L&M provides transportation to and from the worksite and will customize services based on employer hours and needs. L&M currently has work crews at Timken and Henny Penny. For more information on crew employment, please contact Chris Armstrong at [email protected].
Workshop Assembly Services
L&M has been providing assembly and packaging services for community businesses since 1973. Local business in need of assembly or packaging can contract with L&M to perform work at the L&M facility. Although the ultimate goal of L&M is employment within the community, work provided in the workshop environment offers valuable training opportunities for individuals with disabilities. L&M currently provides services to Parker Hannifin, Provimi North America, Natural Solutions, Magnode Corporation, Dow Chemical and Vandor Corporation. For more information about in-house assembly/packaging, please contact Chris Armstrong at [email protected].
